Westcliff Drive Residence is a heritage renovation project that carefully adapts an existing historic house to support contemporary family life while preserving its architectural integrity. The original structure is restored and sensitively upgraded. A restrained contemporary addition is introduced as a distinct new element. The facade of the new avoids projecting beyond the historic façade, allowing the existing house to remain the dominant presence. The new intervention extends the original kitchen and introduces generous service and support spaces, including a garage, while a first-floor addition accommodates a private family lounge, study, and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The project balances continuity and change, allowing new spatial requirements to be met without compromising the character or legibility of the heritage fabric.
